About the Event
Tracks is a program designed by and for the youth of Hopetoun. Across six months of programming, teens aged 12+ are invited to move, strengthen and nourish their mind, body and soul through curated sessions from facilitators near and far. This unique experience is offered without cost through the Physical Activity Innovation Challenge by Healthway.
Hopetoun's resident Tai Chi instructor, Alison Bell, introduces the youth to Martial Arts through two specially curated sessions.
A light afternoon tea will be provided from 4pm to 4:30pm at the Hopetoun CRC.
Learn the basic but transformative movements that originate from Ancient China. Tai Chi directly affects qi - the "vital energy" or "life force" of the body. Proper flow of qi is said to be necessary to maintain health. During Tai Chi, this energy flows through the body through a network of 20 pathways (meridians from acupuncture).
NOTE: Youth are encouraged to bring a change of clothes (if coming from school).
Wear something comfortable that allows for movement.
Please contact Emily on 0432 637 940 for enquiries.
